What is Composite Bonding?

Composite bonding is the use of white filling material to adjust the shape, shade and strength of teeth. We use it in a lot of cases to improve the aesthetics of teeth and to improve function. Composite bonding can sometimes be used synonymously with Composite Veneers, where bonding is used to cover the full tooth thus creating a Veneer.

Composite bonding can be used in a number of different ways to improve a smile:

  • Close spaces
  • Change shade of tooth
  • Increase height of tooth
  • Repair cracks
  • Repair worn edges
  • Even lengths of teeth

Process – Composite bonding can often be done with no injections and very little/no drilling. A bespoke shade, shape, height, width  is used for each individual patient.

A gel is placed on the tooth to prepare the tooth before a composite resin is placed on the tooth, shaped, contoured and polished. This can often be done in a single treatment appointment.

Cost: starts from £200

Amount of appointments: Can be done in single visits, starting from 1.5hours

Composite bonding can stain if you smoke heavily and do not follow our post cleaning instructions. Its important you come for your 6 monthly appointments to have them polished

With composite bonding it is possible to change the shape if you would like to make adjustments. This is different to porcelain veneers, where changing the shape can be more difficult.
