What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a comfortable, virtually invisible, removable brace. Each set of aligners is custom made specifically for your mouth — no wires, no brackets, and no removal of teeth.

The aligners gently guide your teeth into their new position in a pre-set sequence, changed every seven days. Treatment can take as little as three months — with improvements often visible within the first three weeks.

Because the aligners are removable, nothing about your lifestyle needs to change: take them out to eat, brush as normal, and carry on smiling.

How does Invisalign work?

Invisalign gently moves your teeth into the desired position using multiple aligners in a pre-set sequence. Each aligner is a slightly different shape to the previous one, and they’re changed every 7 days until we’re finished.

How quickly can I see what my teeth will look like?

You can usually receive a 3D representation of what your teeth will look like within 2 days of having your scan taken.

Does it hurt?

Invisalign applies gentle pressure to your teeth, which can cause a little discomfort at the start — but it shouldn’t be painful.

How long until I can start treatment?

After your scan and photographs have been taken, treatment can usually start within 3–4 weeks.

Can I have composite bonding as well as Invisalign?

Yes — people often have composite bonding after Invisalign to add the final finishing touches to the shapes of their teeth.

How long will treatment take?

Treatment time depends on how much movement is required. Our fastest cases are complete within 8 weeks — it will fly by!

Can you see my Invisalign?

Invisalign is virtually invisible — someone would need a very keen eye (or to be a dentist) to tell you’re wearing it.

Can I leave my aligners out?

Aligners are removable, and you’re advised to take them out to eat. They can stay out for short periods, but we recommend wearing them for most of the day.

Do I have to pay up front?

No — we’re flexible with payments and you can pay for your treatment as you go, in small chunks. You can also apply for finance through the practice, with 0% available.
